| Home made natural remedies:
Sometimes a look in your food cupboards will provide all you need to give your skin a quick treat.
Puffy Eyes Take 2 tea bags (preferably green tea, if you have it) Steep in warm water for a minute or two and then pop in a bag and refrigerate for at least half an hour. Place the cool moist tea bags on your closed eyes and relax for 10-15 minutes.
Tired eyes Sometimes the oldest remedies are the best! Nothing refreshes tired eyes like two chunky slices of cucumber. Cut 2 slices straight from the fridge, place on closed eyes and relax for 10 minutes.
Bath & Body:
Oatmeal bath: Oats are the perfect way to soften your bath water, especially if you have dry skin and struggle to use bath products. First you'll need to make a pouch using a porous material, a square of muslin or an old pair of clean tights would be fine. Fill it with a mug full of oats and tie it around the tap so that the water can travel through it as you run your bath.
Body Salt Scrub: Need to exfoliate? A mug of salt mixed with ½ mug of olive oil makes an ideal scrub. Try add a drop of your favourite essential oil or a teaspoon of herbs or spices for extra scent and texture.
Face treatments:
Avocado A wonderful rejuvenating face treatment. Mash up the avocado with a fork. If you suffer with particularly dry skin add a touch of olive oil. Smooth all over your face, relax for 10 minutes and rinse off.
Banana Mash with a fork and apply. Leave on for 5 or 10 minutes, then rinse off completely.
Egg white Has a temporary tightening effect and is particularly helpful for oily skin. Whisk a couple of egg whites together, smooth over your face avoiding eyes and mouth, relax for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. |
