It is regarded as a very sensual oil and is used in many spiritual and ritualistic practises to help centre the mind and body. It is said that Burmese women sprinkle a mixture of sandalwood and rosewater onto people during the last day of the year to help wash away their sins!
Today sandalwood is very popular oil and is used in the blending of perfume and aftershaves. Its strong woody base helps to hold onto all of those top notes scents that can often be too fleeting if not anchored.
