Pure Thoughts & Our Environment
Pure Thoughts is based in Derbyshire. We hand make luxury natural soap, skin care and bath products that are free from artificial colours fragrances and preservatives.
We are a responsible small business committed to keeping our impact on the environment to a minimum. In some cases some of our natural ingredients are only grown in warmer climates outside of the UK. Whilst we would prefer to use local suppliers sometimes this is not possible.
However, this has made us even more determined to pay attention to the small details that we can change in order to minimise our environmental impact.
Energy:
Our traditional cold process soap making method needs only the minimum amount of heat, we use just enough to melt our solid oils and butters.
Packaging:
- We use recycled kraft paper to wrap each one of our full sized soap bars by hand.
- We use glass jars rather than plastic and encourage you to recycle them.
- All of our balms and body butters come packaged in small brown boxes made from 70% recycled board. These can recycled after you have finished using the product.
- We happily reuse any cardboard and packaging from the parcels that we receive our supplies in. Anything that cannot be reused is recycled where possible.
- In order to keep your products safe in transit we use biodegradable void fill. These can be re used many times if needed.
- Our gift boxes contain a bed of natural wood wool to keep the products inside safe. Our Wood wool is free from chemicals, biodegradable, and sourced from well seasoned, low resin content, softwood trees harvested from renewable forests only within the UK.
